THE CHECK-IN – GENERAL PRIZE DRAW TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Introduction

    1. The following terms and conditions apply to all prize draws promoted by the Promoter on https://thecheckin.travelodge.co.uk (the “Site”), (collectively the “Prize Draws”, each a “Prize Draw”).
    2. STRAT7 Researchbods, a division of STRAT7 Limited, registered in England under company number 07642707 with a registered office at 11 Soho Street, London, W1D 3AD is the promoter of the Prize Draws (the “Promoter”). The Promoter is responsible for managing and administering the prize draws on behalf of Travelodge Hotels Limited, a company registered in England under company number 00769170 whose registered office is at Sleepy Hollow, Aylesbury Road, Thame, Oxon, OX9 3AT (“Travelodge”).
    3. These general prize draw terms and conditions apply in addition to any specific terms and conditions which may be posted in connection with a Prize Draw on the Site and/or otherwise communicated to you by the Promoter (“Specific Terms”). Together these prize draw terms and conditions and the Specific Terms shall be referred to as the “Terms and Conditions”. To the extent that there is any inconsistency between these general prize draw terms and conditions and the Specific Terms, the Specific Terms will prevail.
    4. By taking part in a Prize Draw, you accept and agree to the Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any of the Terms and Conditions then you should not participate.
    5. The Terms and Conditions may be amended at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on the Site. It is your responsibility to ensure you review the current Terms and Conditions.
    6. These general prize draw terms and conditions were last updated on 24 March 2025.

  2. Eligibility

    1. Entrants must be residents of the United Kingdom, Isle of Man or Channel Islands and must be aged 18 years or over at the time of entry.
    2. Entrants must have access to an email address and a wi-fi or data enabled device with access to the internet to enter a Prize Draw, it will not be the responsibility of the Promoter or Travelodge to provide these to an entrant.
    3. Employees and members of their immediate families (including any live-in partner) of the Promoter, companies within the Travelodge group of companies and/or those associated with the operation or promotion of the Prize Draw, including without limitation the provider of the Prize (as defined below), are ineligible to enter. Any such entries are invalid.
    4. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to ask for evidence to verify the age, identity and/or eligibility of an entrant at any time, and to use any channels and methods available to carry out checks of any details provided. The Promoter may withhold delivery of a Prize until it has received such evidence from a Winner (as defined below) and failure to provide such evidence in a timely manner may result in forfeiture of the Prize.

  3. Entry

    1. The opening date and closing date and time for entries will be as indicated in the Specific Terms.
    2. To enter a Prize Draw, entrants must follow the instructions provided by the Promoter, including without limitation those as specified in the Specific Terms. Please note that entrants may be automatically entered into a Prize Draw when they complete any of the eligible research tasks (eg. surveys, polls or forum discussions) the Promoter invites them to participate in, if so indicated in the Specific Terms posted on the Site or otherwise communicated by the Promoter (eg. as part of the invitation to participate in the research task).
    3. Any entries received before the Prize Draw opens or after the closing date and time will not be counted.
    4. Any entries which are are incomplete, without all the required information, incomprehensible, incorrectly submitted, lost, damaged in any way, made or received after the deadline for receiving entries has passed or which are not received by the Promoter or are not otherwise in accordance with the Terms and Conditions, are invalid and will be discounted.
    5. In the event of any fault, mistake, misunderstanding or dispute concerning the entries or the operation of any part of the Prize Draw, the decision of the Promoter shall be final.
    6. Where entrants are required to submit a contribution to the Site or upload any content as part of their entry such as any text (including, for instance, on any forums or on any classified pages), photographs, graphics, video or audio to the Site, entrants also agree to the Site’s Terms & Conditions of Use.

  4. The Prize

    1. The Prize for each Prize Draw is as specified in the Specific Terms posted on the Site or otherwise communicated by the Promoter (eg. as part of an invitation to participate in a research task) (the “Prize”). Unless otherwise stated in the Specific Terms, each entrant is limited to winning one Prize per Prize Draw. Each Prize is subject to availability and to Winner confirmation, i.e. the Promoter has managed to contact the Winner and confirm eligibility.
    2. Where the Prize is a voucher (which will be provided in the form of a unique voucher code or otherwise), such voucher may only be redeemed by the Prize Winner and will be made payable in pounds sterling. Such voucher cannot be made payable to any third party. Use of such voucher may also be subject to the terms and conditions of the issuer of the voucher . The Promoter, Prize provider(s) and/or the issuer of the voucher reserve the right to refuse to accept vouchers which are deemed to have been tampered with, defaced, duplicated, damaged or which otherwise are suspected to be affected by fraud or which have been lost or stolen following issue.
    3. No cash equivalent (where applicable) or alternative Prize will be given at the request of the Winner and the Prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable. However, the Promoter reserves the right to change the Prize or any part of the Prize to an alternative of equal or greater value for any reason in its sole discretion, including without limitation due to circumstances beyond its control or if any part of the Prize becomes unavailable.
    4. If for any reason the Winner chooses not to take up the Prize or any part of the Prize, the Promoter reserves the right to ask the Winner to confirm this in writing and the Promoter will be able to retain or dispose of the Prize (or part of the Prize), or award the Prize to an alternative Winner (to be drawn in accordance with the Terms and Conditions), at its own discretion.
    5. The Promoter may refuse to provide a Prize, or seek its recovery, in the event of non-entitlement under the Terms and Conditions or an entrant's breach of the Terms and Conditions, fraud or dishonesty.
    6. The Promoter or Prize provider(s) endeavour to deliver the prize to the Winner within twenty-eight (28) days from the date of winner confirmation, unless stated otherwise in the Specific Terms. The Promoter or Prize provider(s) will not be liable where a Prize has been lost or stolen following delivery and such Prize will not be replaced.
    7. Winner Selection
    8. The number of Prize Winners for each Prize Draw is as specified in the Specific Terms posted on the Site or otherwise communicated by the Promoter (eg. as part of an invitation to participate in a research task).
    9. Prize Draws will take place within one week of the closing date and time for entry, unless otherwise specified in the Specific Terms.
    10. Unless stated otherwise in the Specific Terms, the Prize Winner(s) will be drawn at random from all valid entries, subject to eligibility and Winner confirmation (collectively the “Winners” and each a “Winner”).

    5. Winner Contact

    1. Unless otherwise stated in the Specific Terms, the Winner(s) will be contacted by email within one week after the draw date, unless otherwise indicated in the Specific Terms.
    2. If a Winner fails to respond to the notification email within 30 days of the email being sent, or if a Winner fails to meet any of the eligibility requirements or is otherwise unable to comply with the Terms and Conditions, this may result in forfeiture of the Prize and the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that entrant (without liability to that entrant) and offer the prize to the next eligible entrant and thereafter until a Winner is found.
    3. Each Winner is required to comply with all instructions and requirements as may be provided by the Promoter, Prize provider(s) and/or their agents to receive and/or take up the Prize. The Promoter will not be liable to the Winner(s) or any other persons where they fail to comply with such instructions and/or requirements, and such failure may result in forfeiture of the Prize (without liability to the entrant).

  6. Manipulation of services

    1. The Promoter is committed to operating Prize Draws fairly and to preventing abuse of its systems, as well as those of its agents and sub-contractors.
    2. For this reason, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify and/or discount entries if it has reasonable grounds to suspect, at its sole discretion, having regard to all the circumstances and information available at the relevant time, any of the following:
    3. entries have been made in breach of the Terms and Conditions; or
    4. there has been any activity which the Promoter considers is designed to unfairly influence or excessively manipulate the Prize Draw outcome and/or provide an unfair advantage to the entrant.

  7. Liability

    1. The Promoter does not accept responsibility in the event that any entry is lost, delayed or not properly received, registered or recorded or for any undelivered Prize Draw entries or for any disruption, delay or misdirection of such entries.
    2. The Promoter can not promise that the services relating to a Prize Draw will be free from errors or omissions, nor that they will be available uninterrupted and in a fully operating condition. These services may be suspended temporarily and without notice in the case of any problem with any system, server, software, or for any technical malfunction or failure, maintenance or repair or for reasons reasonably beyond the control of the Promoter.
    3. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for any fault, malfunction, damage, loss or disappointment suffered by you as an entrant howsoever arising from participating in a prize draw or from accepting any Prize, whether due to any error, omission by the Promoter, or its employees, agents or others or by any other cause.
    4. The Promoter reserves the right to amend any element of a Prize Draw for reasons beyond its reasonable control. The Promoter and/or Travelodge are not responsible for any loss or damage caused to you as a result of any such occurrence.
    5. Nothing in the Terms and Conditions restricts your statutory rights as a consumer. For more details on these statutory rights you should contact your local Trading Standards Office or Citizen's Advice Bureau.
    6. Nothing in the Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its staff or suppliers’ negligence or for fraud or for any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by law or regulation.
    7. Travelodge is not responsible for the administration of any Prize Draws, the fulfillment of any Prizes, or compliance with the Terms and Conditions by the Promoter. By participating in any Prize Draw, entrants release Travelodge from any liability arising out of any such Prize Draw.

  8. Privacy

    1. Information and data ("personal data") which is provided by you when you enter a prize draw will be held by the Promoter, and may be used by the Promoter, Travelodge, and their respective service providers, suppliers and contractors for the purposes of administering and fulfilling the Prize Draw. Entrants agree that this includes without limitation that the Promoter may contact them if there is an issue with the Prize Draw. Further details of how any personal data will be used are set out below and in the Privacy Policy and entrants agree to this use of their personal data when they participate in the Promoter’s Prize Draws.
    2. The Promoter and/or the Prize provider may send personal data of entrants to third parties outside the European Economic Area for the purposes of administering the Prize Draw, and by entering, entrants agree to such transfer for these purposes.
    3. If you are the Winner of a Prize Draw, you agree that the Promoter may post your username and, if available, your general location (i.e. City or County) on the Site or via newsletter to the Panel members.

  9. General

    1. The Terms and Conditions are available in English only and shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and they irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
